About Kellie

Welcome! I'm Kellie and it's a pleasure to have you visit my little corner of the blogosphere. It doesn't seem possible, but I have been at this blogging thing for eight years! While researching autism treatments for my son, I happened upon a fellow autism mom's blog in which she lovingly chronicled her son's journey, and I fell in love with the idea of having a place to store my own thoughts and memories. I then discovered there was a whole world of homeschool blogs out there and was thrilled to find so many likeminded women. I have made some wonderful friendships over the last five years, and I look forward to more.

Sometimes I find it a little hard to narrow down my blogging niche because God has blessed me with so many different experiences. While I may occasionally post something that provides useful information to others, I mostly just blog about what's happening in my life. And because I'm a visual person, it goes against my nature to post something without a picture -- so my posts also tend to follow whatever my camera captures. So whether you're a homeschooler or not, my hope is that you will feel welcome here.

Hmmm . . . what else can I tell you about myself?

  • I belong, body and soul, in life and in death, to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.

  • I met the love of my life, Marc, at a toga party in college (for real!) and we have been blessed with 23 years of marriage.

  • The Lord has also blessed us with three children who are beautiful, inside and out. They are Anna (17), Ryne (16), and Grace (12).

  • I've been an autism mom for 13 years. You can read more about our autism adventure here.

  • I've been a homeschool mom for 8 years. You can read more about Blue House Academy here.

  • When we first started homeschooling, the kids wanted a name for our home school, so they chose Blue House Academy. And, yes, we really do live in a blue house.

  • And one last very important thing. . . despite the abundance of blue at this blog, my favorite color is actually green!
