If you ever had bigger hair than this...

...I dare you to prove it!

Okay, I'll give you a moment to stop laughing.

Why subject myself to humiliation by posting this picture on the internet? This weekend is my 20th high school reunion, so I thought I'd do something in honor of the occasion. I'm not actually going to the reunion because I didn't find out about it until a few weeks ago. Apparently the information was only posted on Facebook, and I still refuse to add one more thing to draw me to the computer, so I miss out on important information like high school reunions.

Back to the picture. Let me explain something. We all know big hair was "big" in the 80's, but I grew up in south Texas where big is taken to a whole new level. I worked hard at that hair. I had to get up at 5:30 a.m. to make sure I had hair and makeup like that every day. I absolutely could not have done it without my best friend.

I really think scientists should study whether there is a correlation between autism and the mother's prior use of AquaNet.

So here's to the Class of '89 -- the best and last of the 80's.

P.S. Thank you for your prayers! Ryne was so excited when I dropped him off, and after a few moments of panic, I am doing fine too. : ) I will update soon...

  1. Class of '91 here and mine was that big. I was even called "boofer". Cute post. I'll have to take your dare and find a pic of me back then. Maybe I'll borrow your post idea in 2 years!

  2. I'm simply impressed at the perfection of the 'do'. I never quite mastered the technique, but I had alot of hair(still do) and have equated the use of the flat-iron to the knowledge the world isn't flat.

  4. No, I'm sorry to say that I couldn't compete with that one - lol!! Great photos though!

So glad that Ryne is doing well. I understand the panic and am glad that the Lord soothed those nerves....

    Blessings,

  6. Your hair looks like something I would have envied back in the day!!! I am excited to hear how Ryne's trip went, how wonderful that people would be willing to step out like that, what a blessing. It must be hard, letting your little boy go like that...bittersweet. I know that being a mom of a special needs child can make us a little more protective than usual, but I bet he will really grow from this! And maybe you will too? Hmm I know someday I will understand this myself...maybe you can remind me when I get there ;)

    Love,
    Jennie :)
