Happy Endings

Ryne completed his Math U See Alpha book today, and I've never seen him more proud of an academic accomplishment. We've been waiting all year to use the giant Buzz Lightyear sticker as a reward. I took a look at the next level, Beta, and I feel confident we can move on. There will be plenty of opportunity to keep reviewing his facts. Right now he needs to work on his speed when taking a timed drill on paper (he does pretty well with online drills). We have plenty of left-over drills from when Anna did Saxon, so we'll just make that a part of our regular routine. I still cannot believe the progress he's made in two weeks -- it's stunning. While there's still plenty of math to come, it was a very happy ending to Alpha.

But for one of the most amazing happy endings ever, you simply must read this story. I'm still tearing up just thinking about it. Praise God!

To Infinity and Beyond: A Sparkling Survival Story

Apparently Buzz is motivating to a lot of kids with autism!

  1. Congratulations! My two eldest have just finished the first book (of two) for K5 (here it's called pre-primary) and are very excited to move on to the second book. I am no less excited. It is wonderful to open a new cover.

  2. Thanks, Sharon! Same to yours! It is fun to start new things. I remember in college I would always spend precious study time analyzing the course catalog for the next semester instead of studying the material for that day. Through homeschooling, however, I've learned that slow and steady wins the race. I'm glad we waited until Ryne was really ready to move on.

BTW, I've been enjoying reading your blog. It's one of my favorites.
